The Pre-Jump Checklist is a rebreather diver’s tool to assure the diver has a safe, working breathing loop and buoyancy control on entering the water.
This takes just a few seconds to execute, it is intended to be used when the diver is ready to enter the water. It is conducted as a final check in addition to the full rebreather pre-dive checklist. The RTC has a suggested pre-dive checklist too, but ensure you also follow the requirements of the manufacturer of your rebreather.
The checklist relies on the diver’s training in its use. Operationally one can use it in Icon form or Text form.
This quality assurance check will detect faults in the unit that must be corrected.
